00 — Flowent · Independent studio
I build tools
people love.
I’m a solo developer in Freiburg, Germany, building privacy-first Chrome extensions and small, focused SaaS. Your data stays on your device. You pay once. The build is unobfuscated and source-available, so you never have to take my word for it.

Don’t take my word for it
Four rules keep the work honest and the tools alive for years.
A studio built to outlast its hype.
No roadmap theatre, no growth-at-all-costs.
- 01
Build only what I’d use
Every product starts as a problem I had myself. If I wouldn’t open it daily, it doesn’t ship.
- 02
Ship in the open
An unobfuscated build and a real changelog. No hidden network calls, no telemetry you didn’t agree to.
- 03
Sell once, support for years
A one-time price with lifetime updates. No VC clock forcing a subscription onto software that doesn’t need one.
- 04
Answer my own email
Support comes from the person who wrote the code — usually within one business day.
A fair question: what if Flowent goes away? Because every product is local-first and source-available, your data and the tool keep working — with or without me. That’s the entire point.
Each product solves a real problem I had.
What I’ve shipped.
Captures your open tabs and AI chats (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini) in one click and restores them exactly. Stored in your browser; optional end-to-end sync via your own Google Drive. No server, no tracking, no subscription.
Next up: a focused developer-productivity tool — same rules: local-first, one-time price, source-available. Targeting Q4 2026.
Need a bespoke Chrome extension or a tightly-focused tool for your team? I take 2–3 fixed-scope contract projects a year.
What I take on
Chrome extensions
Manifest V3, local-first by default. Capture, automation, and workflow tools that respect the user.
Typical: 4–6 weeks · fixed scope
Focused SaaS
Small, single-purpose web tools. Next.js + Postgres, deployed and handed over — with the source.
Typical: 6–10 weeks · fixed scope
Privacy & audits
Reviewing an existing extension or app for data leaks, permission creep, and tracking.
Typical: 1–2 weeks · flat fee
Every tab, every AI thread — saved, searchable, yours.
One keystroke captures your full window. Restore it weeks later, exactly as it was — and nothing leaves your machine unless you point it at your own Drive.

One-keystroke capture
Save your whole window with Ctrl+Shift+S.
AI-thread aware
Recognises Claude, ChatGPT & Gemini conversations.
Your-Drive sync
Optional, end-to-end — never a Flowent server.
Instant search
Full-text across every saved session.
JSON export
Your data is portable. No lock-in, ever.
3 permissions only
tabs, storage, identity. Nothing more.
Free tier available — upgrade to lifetime whenever you’re ready. No account required to start.
Installs from the Chrome Web Store · works in seconds
Constraints I set before the first line of code.
Three rules I won’t break.
These aren’t marketing promises. They’re constraints I set before the first line of code.
- 01
Your data stays yours.
Everything stores locally on your device. Optional sync uses your own Google Drive — never a Flowent server. Verified by the published source, not promised in a policy.
- 02
Pay once. Use forever.
No subscription for software that doesn’t change monthly. No VC pressure means no forced upsells, no surprise shutdowns.
- 03
Open by design.
An unobfuscated, auditable build with no hidden network calls. Request the full source any time — email anfrage@flowent.de and I’ll send a signed source bundle within one business day — and verify exactly what runs on your machine.
“The best tools disappear into your workflow. They’re there when you need them, invisible when you don’t—and they never ask for more access than they need.”
Local-first
Trust you can verify.
“Local-first” isn’t a slogan — it’s an architecture. There’s no Flowent server in the loop. Your sessions live in your browser’s own storage, and the build is unobfuscated so anyone can inspect exactly what it does.
Optional sync runs through your Google Drive, end to end. Nothing routes through me. If that sounds like a claim that’s easy to make and hard to prove — that’s exactly why everything to the right links to the receipts.
The answers a vendor-security questionnaire asks for — stated plainly.
Specifics, not promises.
- Where data lives
- Stored in your browser via
chrome.storage.localon your device. No Flowent server ever receives, stores, or proxies it. - Optional sync scope
- Uses the
drive.appdataOAuth scope only — the app sees its own hidden Drive folder, never the rest of your Drive. - Subprocessors
- Google Drive, only if you enable sync. No analytics, no ads, no trackers. Full detail in the privacy policy.
- Data processing agreement
- Because Flowent operates no server and never receives or processes your data, a DPA/AVV (Auftragsverarbeitungsvertrag) is generally not required. If your compliance process needs one on file, email anfrage@flowent.de.

One person.
No team. No investors.
I’m Luis Ens, a developer in Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany. Flowent is my one-person studio for building privacy-focused tools I want to use myself.
I started in 2024, tired of browser extensions that were bloated, cloud-dependent, and subscription-trapped. So I built the alternative — beginning with Session Vault.
Each product ships with the same promise: local-first, honest pricing, and a build you can audit.

Where is my data stored?
drive.appdata scope). Nothing ever touches a Flowent server. Can I see the code?
What if Flowent stops?
Do you take custom projects?
Why just one person?
